Your bilingual guide will lead you through winding dry-forest trails, pointing out endemic birds, howler monkeys, and the towering Guanacaste trees that give the region its name.
As you ascend toward the Buena Vista Viewpoint, breathe in the scent of wild orchids and listen to the breeze rustle through the canopy. At the summit, pause for a panoramic vista of Sámara Bay’s turquoise waters meeting the horizon—an ideal spot for photos and to learn about local ecology from your guide. Then, descend to the untouched stretch of Buena Vista Beach, where you can trot along the shoreline with waves gently lapping at your feet and feel the warm Costa Rican sun on your skin.

Meet your guide and select your horse right on the sands of Playa Sámara. After a safety briefing and orientation—covering riding basics and trail etiquette—you’ll mount up and set off under the shade of coastal palms.
Traverse gently sloping forest paths, where the dappled sunlight reveals hidden orchids and the calls of tropical birds echo overhead. Your guide will share stories of the region’s flora and fauna as you wind through ancient trees toward higher ground.
Arrive at the Buena Vista lookout to take in sweeping 180° views of Sámara Bay and the Pacific coastline. Pause for photos, enjoy a light snack, and learn about the geological forces that shaped this breathtaking panorama
Descend toward the shoreline and canter along the pristine sands of Buena Vista Beach. Feel the ocean breeze, watch for marine life offshore, and even dismount for a brief stroll or splash in the surf.
Retrace your forest route back toward Sámara Beach, soaking in one last glimpse of the coast from the trail. At the stable, dismount and bid farewell to your horse before a short transfer back to your pickup point, concluding your 2½-hour seaside equestrian journey.

If our staff determines that weather conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for the tour, you will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund. Safety comes first.
Cancellation and prepayment policies may vary depending on the tour operator. Our policy is as follows: Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the activity are eligible for a full refund. If you cancel between 36 and 48 hours before the activity, a 50% refund will be issued. Cancellations made less than 36 hours before the activity are non-refundable.
