Spend the day trolling and jigging in the open Pacific while taking in beautiful ocean views and battling powerful fish on quality gear. The full-day option includes mid-day sandwiches and light refreshments, giving you time to relax on deck before heading back out to chase the next big catch. Whether you’re aiming for a trophy fish or simply want to experience Costa Rica’s renowned fishing culture, this trip promises a fun and memorable day at sea.

Departure is from your hotel in Sámara or Puerto Carrillo.

If you are arriving from another location, you’re welcome to meet us at our office. We’re located across the street from Roots Bakery, on Sámara’s main road.

1Start – Hotel Pickup & Marina Transfer

We’ll collect you at your Sámara or Carrillo accommodation and escort you to the departure dock.

2Transit to Deep-Water Grounds

Cruise offshore, discussing local marine hot spots and fish behavior with your captain.

3Full-Day Fishing Session

Over the next several hours, fish for marlin, tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi, and other game species using top-tier gear and techniques. Crew members assist with rigging, fighting fish, and proper handling.

4Midday Snack Break

Refuel with sandwiches, fresh fruit, and bottled water as you drift between productive currents.

5Final Trolling & Return

Enjoy one last trolling run before heading back to the marina, disembarking with fresh catches and lasting memories.

What currency is accepted for this tour?

We accept payment in Costa Rican colones (CRC) or US dollars (USD). You’re welcome to pay in either currency – just let us know your preference in advance, if possible.

What if Mother Nature has other plans?

We love sharing nature with our guests, and we do our best to provide the best possible experience. However, it’s important to remember that wildlife sightings and water visibility can never be guaranteed, as they depend on natural conditions beyond our control. Thank you for your understanding!

Weather troubles - what are my options?

If our staff determines that weather conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for the tour, you will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund. Safety comes first.

Cancellation policy?

Cancellation and prepayment policies may vary depending on the tour operator. Our policy is as follows: Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the activity are eligible for a full refund. If you cancel between 36 and 48 hours prior, a 50% refund will be issued. Cancellations made less than 36 hours before the activity are non-refundable and will be charged in full.
