What is an ATV tour like in Sámara?
Our ATV tours run through a private property in the hills behind Sámara. The terrain covers jungle trails, river crossings, muddy hill climbs, and eventually arrives at a summit with panoramic views of the coastline. It’s genuinely off-road — not a groomed track — which is what makes it exciting. The guides are experienced, the equipment is maintained, and the experience is appropriate for all skill levels.
2-Hour vs 3-Hour: which should you choose?
The ATV Tour 2-Hours covers the core route — jungle trails, river crossing, and the summit viewpoint. It starts at $96 for a single ATV or $113 for a shared ATV. It’s the right choice if you want the full experience in a tighter window, or if you’re traveling with kids who might reach their limit after a couple of hours.
The ATV Tour 3-Hours goes further — more trail distance, longer time in the jungle, and more exploration of the coastal terrain. Starting at $113 for a single ATV. Choose this one if you want to maximize the adventure and aren’t in a rush.
Both tours depart up to 5 times per day: 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm. You’re picked up from your hotel in Sámara or Puerto Carrillo.
Single vs shared ATV
Single ATV means you drive your own vehicle. Shared ATV means one person drives and one rides as a passenger on the same machine. Single is more fun and gives you full control — recommended unless you’re not comfortable driving off-road. Shared is a good option for kids who want to join but can’t drive, or for couples who prefer to ride together.
Maximum group size is 10 people, minimum 2.
What to wear and bring
Closed-toe shoes are required — no sandals or flip-flops allowed. The guides enforce this for safety. Long pants are recommended to protect your legs from the equipment and vegetation. The ATVs will get you dirty — don’t wear anything you care about. Sunscreen and sunglasses are useful since the summit has no shade.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. Both tours are designed for all skill levels. The guides ride with the group and provide instruction before departure. You don’t need prior ATV or driving experience. The private property means you’re not sharing trails with traffic.
