Your expert pilot, Jorge, will guide you skyward in an open-cockpit gyrocopter, providing exhilarating “surf-in-gyro” moments and unparalleled views of the Buena Vista River, Carrillo Beach, Isla Chora Wildlife Refuge, and the rolling Barrigona hills. Feel the wind rush past as you explore river corridors and coastal landscapes from a bird’s-eye perspective, while Jorge’s bilingual narration (EN/ES) brings local ecology, wildlife sightings, and scenic highlights to life.

1Start – Buena Vista Airstrip

Arrive for a safety briefing, equipment fitting, and pre-flight orientation with your pilot.

2Buena Vista River Overflight

Glide along the river’s course, spotting crocodiles and mangrove habitats from above.

3Coastal Pass

Turn toward the shoreline to admire Carrillo Beach’s palm-fringed sands and surf breaks.

4Isla Chora Wildlife Refuge

Fly over the protected mangrove island, observing its trees and coastal birdlife.

5Barrigona Hills Traverse

Cross the forested hills of Barrigona for sweeping views of the Nicoya Peninsula.

6End – Return Landing

Descend smoothly back to the Buena Vista Airstrip and disembark.

What currency is accepted for this tour?

We accept payment in Costa Rican colones (CRC) or US dollars (USD). You’re welcome to pay in either currency – just let us know your preference in advance, if possible.

What if Mother Nature has other plans?

We love sharing nature with our guests, and we do our best to provide the best possible experience. However, it’s important to remember that wildlife sightings and water visibility can never be guaranteed, as they depend on natural conditions beyond our control. Thank you for your understanding!

Weather troubles - what are my options?

If our staff determines that weather conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for the tour, you will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund. Safety comes first.

Cancellation policy?

Cancellation and prepayment policies may vary depending on the tour operator. Our policy is as follows: Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the activity are eligible for a full refund. If you cancel between 36 and 48 hours prior, a 50% refund will be issued. Cancellations made less than 36 hours before the activity are non-refundable and will be charged in full.
